These are projects from the last few years that I’m particularly proud of:

mLearning Africa

Digital Hero Book
From 2006-07 I was a Digital Vision research fellow at Stanford University. The fellowship program is in social entrepreneurship and incubates innovative projects that best utilise ICT for social change. Through seminars, mentoring and full immersion at Stanford University the program teaches how to apply Silicon Valley innovation, technology and entrepreneurship to ICT4D projects in developing countries.
My research project was the Digital Hero Book, which uses digital storytelling to educate and connect low-income youth from around the world. By combining digital storytelling with social networking, it promotes young voices for positive social change, develops 21st century skills and increases cross-cultural awareness.
The pilot project involved kids from Cape Town, San Francisco and Kenya.
The project was funded by the Reuters Foundation, Shuttleworth Foundation and Firelight Foundation.
